This post is about how to get a good start on fallout 3.

When you first start Fallout 3, you are being born. You are then allowed to choose what you want to look like when you are 19.
*Either choose preset versions,
*Either choose your own made version





When you have done this, you select done, and then you are forwarded 1 year where you are a baby.

You are now instructed to walk to your father, then he tells you something unimportant. You are then left alone in the pen. Since your father underestimates your intelligence, you get out of the pen with ease, and then read the special book. Here you can choose what your special is to be. S.P.E.C.I.A.L, stands for:



STRENGTH ,PERCEPTION, ENDURANCE, CHARISMA, INTELLIGENCE, AGILITY, and LUCK. Choose what you want.



You are then forwarded 9 years and you are on your 10th birthday, you have to talk to many people, then go to the labs on the lower level. You are given a BB gun that is used to shoot the radroach.












You are forwarded 7 years and you are 16. You have to take the GOAT test. The last question is the worst, the answer is The overseer.
I recomend you to go to the teacher, and talk to him, and choose the rudest and most negative reply. This then enables you to choose your taged skills.
I would choose Small guns, lock pick or sneak, science or medecine. I chose Small guns, Melee and lock pick. I absolutely love melee.

Once you have chosen your tags, you are to walk around and then you are transported 3 years forward.Your dad has escaped, and your only friend, gives you a pistol. Get out of the vault, and if you so wish, save buches mother, and kill the overseer, who cares about him, right?


Once you are out, you are ready to roll. The first place to go is megaton, search around the wasteland untill you find a big metal cone on the surface of the wasteland. Once you walk up to it, the door will auto. Walk further and open the gates.

The sheriff will now talk to you. You tell him your details, he will help you. He will also ask you to deactivate the bomb in the center of megaton. If your explosive skill is too low then try this.

*You go to moria brown, and wait until she has a pistol like yours. (Her stock changes every 3 days) and make

sure it is a 10 mm pistol.
*Sell your pistol.
*She now has two, and you have some money.
*Now, buy the cheaper of the two pistols.
*Now, sell the pistol you have JUST bought.
*Now buy the cheaper of the two.
*When you have done the last part, "buy the cheaper of the two", the pistol will become full condition.
*You can now sell the full condition verion back, and buy it back, then sell it, making profit all the time.
*If you do not have enough money then try selling things that you find around and outside megaton.

Now, you have some money, ie. caps. Wait untill the time is 9 to 10 oclock pm. Go to Walters place, and you shall find a man sitting at the computer. Talk to him and he will sell you mentants. Now eat a few mentants, and go back to the bomb before they ware off, and deactivate the bomb.

In the morning, talk to the sheriff, and he will give you the house, and 100 caps, (500 caps if you won the speach)

Now you have your own house, some money, and a good pistol. You are now in good shape to start playing fallout 3 properly.

Also, here is a tip for all you small gun hungry people.

Go outside, and then go left of megaton and there should be a few dogs and molerats. Kill them, and you get xp. Go up to lv 3 - 5.

Now buy a good gun such as a hunting rifle, and buy some shells with it.






Go out side of megaton, get your pistol, shoot the robot anywhere, run behind a rock, get your hunting rifle out, and wait for the sherif. Kill the sherif, and then you should have a key, a chinese assult rifle, and a suit.

Now make sure your lv 4 or higher for this part. After you have the key, go to the armory, and there will be a robot on guard. Kill it. Now you have access to lots of guns. Save some in your house though.

So now you have some guns and some mole rat meat, and armour. You are ready to set off on your adventure.

Fallout 3 is a RPG shooter set in the year 2077 after a radiation bomb set alight in America. Fallout 3 is set in Washington DC.


The game starts off with you being born and customising how you look in the future. Your mother is then dieing and you are transported forward by one year.

On the first you have to go towards your dad and then told about your mother. You then need to get out of the pen and read the your S.P.E.C.I.A.L book. The book tells you about each skill and at the end, lets you add and take away points. SPECIAL stands for speed, perception, endurance, charisma, intellegence, agility and luck.

You are then transported 9 years, meaning you are 10. You are set in a birthday party and you get your pipboy 3000, wheer you can change your weapons, eat and drink to increase health, wear armour, check skills and exp points as well as the map, and much more. You are then given a bb gun and asked to test it out.

6 years later you are given your GOAT test. You go in a class and answer the question. The last question is one answer. The overseer. However, when you go to talk to the teacher, tell them that you do not like your job in the unkindest way possible in the dialect. You will then be given permission to change your stats.

3 years later your father has escaped and now it is your turn. Go around, save Butches mum if you wish so, kill the overseer if you want, and then run.

You are in the wasteland, the deadliest place. Your first bet is to go to Megaton. Its a little town where they sell all your needs, and if you deactivate the bomb, you get your very own house. You can also buy weapons, misc and armour from Moria. Also, you can get health from the doc, and fix the pipes in megaton for money by talking to Walters.

The sherif is the main person in town, but in all, Megaton is a good place for the whole game.

After this, you talk to bartender, and he tells you where your dad is. You are set off on your quest, although i would recomend leveling up by killing molerats and dogs, as well as raiders if you are able to.

The game becomes harder and harder with more supermutants, but at lv 20, you are king of the wastelands. A super mutant should be like a molerat at lv 3.

It is a 300+ hour game, and the colectables are unique. If you collect all items, it will go towards 500+ hour game minimum.

Fallout 3 is a must buy for anybody. In my opinion, it beats farcry and COD series. If your getting a new game, get Fallout 3.
